Agreement
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) apply when you use the RingThing iPhone app (the “App”) and the ringthing.app website (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
What RingThing is
RingThing lets you design custom ring themes on iPhone and share them with others via a link or QR code. Themes are stored locally on your device and are encoded directly into the links and QR codes you share — no account is required.
Your use of the Service
You agree to use the Service only in lawful ways. In particular, you agree not to:
- Use the Service to harass, harm, or impersonate others, or to distribute content that is unlawful or infringes someone else’s rights.
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the Service, its infrastructure, or its security.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from the App, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it.
- Use the Service to build a competing product or to scrape or harvest data from it in bulk.
Themes you create and share
You retain ownership of the themes you design. Because shared themes are encoded into the links and QR codes themselves, anyone with the link or QR can view and import the theme. You are responsible for deciding who to share a link with.
We do not store, moderate, or have access to the contents of themes you create or share. If you receive a theme from someone else, you are responsible for deciding whether to import it.
App Store terms
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and your use of it is also subject to Apple’s standard end user license agreement and any other terms imposed by Apple. If there is a conflict between those terms and these Terms, Apple’s terms control with respect to the matters they cover.
No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or iOS version.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RingThing and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim — which, for a free Service, is zero.
Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may update, change, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; when we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after the update means you accept the revised Terms.
